Summon Silva: Through Death Are All Things Reborn

This is the third and final version of Silva. The first two can be found on here as well and are the base pencils and another colored version. This one was inspired by the idea that in order for something to be born something must die; especially in the natural world where the dead materials of our bodies become food and return to the Earth. So in this version I imagined that, like the other version, the nymphs are summoning the kindly Silva Forest God to protect their home from some offense; but unlike the other version, in this one the cost of that bargain is hinted at through color and drama. In order for a God to breach into the mortal world from the Spirit one he must take a physical form and that form has to be made up of elements just as everything else is. So in order to do this, two spiritual sisters volunteer from the tribe to summon the God thus using their own material to give him a body. You can see this process beginning with their hair literally becoming his inhaling breath. It is the natural order of their world and to protect their children, their friends and their home they gladly give their lives.
